Ferdinand A. Wolber as founding Pastor of St. Genevieve Parish.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-box su-box-style-default\" id=\"\" style=\"border-color:#a2a0a0;border-radius:5px;max-width:none\"><div class=\"su-box-title\" style=\"background-color:#d5d3d3;color:#FFFFFF;border-top-left-radius:3px;border-top-right-radius:3px\"><\/div><div class=\"su-box-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"border-bottom-left-radius:3px;border-bottom-right-radius:3px\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stgenevieve-stmaurice.org\/parish\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/fr_cain_color.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"131\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The following June &#8211; 1960 &#8211; a sister Parish was opened about 2 miles west led by Fr. Thomas Cain &#8211; called St. Maurice Parish.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-box su-box-style-default\" id=\"\" style=\"border-color:#a2a0a0;border-radius:5px;max-width:none\"><div class=\"su-box-title\" style=\"background-color:#d5d3d3;color:#FFFFFF;border-top-left-radius:3px;border-top-right-radius:3px\"><\/div><div class=\"su-box-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"border-bottom-left-radius:3px;border-bottom-right-radius:3px\">\nOn July 1st, 2012, we became one Parish family &#8211; ending 6 years as clustered parishes under the Together in Faith program of the Archdiocese of Detroit. With hard work, dedication, and sacrifice we have achieved a cooperative and complimentary relationship and formed a new Parish family.<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-box su-box-style-default\" id=\"\" style=\"border-color:#a2a0a0;border-radius:5px;max-width:none\"><div class=\"su-box-title\" style=\"background-color:#d5d3d3;color:#FFFFFF;border-top-left-radius:3px;border-top-right-radius:3px\"><\/div><div class=\"su-box-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"border-bottom-left-radius:3px;border-bottom-right-radius:3px\">\nOur 11-acre campus is nestled in a subdivision in eastern Livonia, just east of Middlebelt Rd. between I-96 and 5 Mile Rd. The Church and campus lie secluded in a quiet neighborhood offering an oasis of Catholic faith and education. We have four primary structures on our grounds. Our air-conditioned, permanent church was dedicated in 1967 and was designed to enhance prayer while being functional and comfortable. With a seating capacity of 1,400, the unique ceiling and roof design, coupled with an elegant simplicity, create an interior climate of awe in God\u2019s home. An aerial view of our church shows it to be shaped like a fish. That same design is carried out on our tabernacle doors and was used to create a beautiful monstrance to grace our altar during Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Next to the church is the rectory which includes the pastor\u2019s residence and parish office.<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-box su-box-style-default\" id=\"\" style=\"border-color:#a2a0a0;border-radius:5px;max-width:none\"><div class=\"su-box-title\" style=\"background-color:#d5d3d3;color:#FFFFFF;border-top-left-radius:3px;border-top-right-radius:3px\"><\/div><div class=\"su-box-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"border-bottom-left-radius:3px;border-bottom-right-radius:3px\">\nOur tri-level, completely fireproofed, secured education building is home to the Religious Education offices and Youth Ministry. Our 12,900 square foot Activities Center and kitchen are attached to the education building. The Family Life Center (previously the convent) is used for additional meeting space for our very active parish and completes the structures on our campus.<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-box su-box-style-default\" id=\"\" style=\"border-color:#a2a0a0;border-radius:5px;max-width:none\"><div class=\"su-box-title\" style=\"background-color:#d5d3d3;color:#FFFFFF;border-top-left-radius:3px;border-top-right-radius:3px\"><\/div><div class=\"su-box-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"border-bottom-left-radius:3px;border-bottom-right-radius:3px\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stgenevieve-stmaurice.org\/parish\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/shrine.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"86\" height=\"115\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dedicated May 1, 1977, by Bishop Drawczak, our Marian Shrine has become an outdoor prayer area where many pause before work, during the day, and after work. Our Mother welcomes all with open arms.<\/p>\n<p>At the foot of our outdoor crucifix is the Pope John Paul II Prayer Court inset with memorial bricks in remembrance of deceased loved ones and in thanksgiving for blessings received. Benches invite prayer court visitors to sit in quiet contemplation and find peace in the promise of Christ crucified.<\/p>\n<p>The vestibule of our church was enlarged in 2007 with the addition of a warmly beautiful Gathering Space inviting everyone to linger and visit after masses. The spaciousness allows enough room for Final Visitation before a funeral or a receiving line after a wedding.<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-box su-box-style-default\" id=\"\" style=\"border-color:#a2a0a0;border-radius:5px;max-width:none\"><div class=\"su-box-title\" style=\"background-color:#d5d3d3;color:#FFFFFF;border-top-left-radius:3px;border-top-right-radius:3px\"><\/div><div class=\"su-box-content su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\" style=\"border-bottom-left-radius:3px;border-bottom-right-radius:3px\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/stgenevieve-stmaurice.org\/parish\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/churchnight.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"126\" height=\"87\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Since those early days, when volunteers cleared the land for St. Genevieve and St. Maurice Parishes, we have been a vibrant faith community with an active Parish Councils, commissions, organizations, volunteers, and out-reach programs. We have grown under the pastoral leadership of dedicated Priests.<\/p>\n<p>As a diverse community, we come together and, like Jesus\u2019 disciples of the first millennium, we strive to be of one mind and one heart in God.
