Baptize them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.\u2019 <\/div><\/div> Mt 28, 18-20<\/p>\n<p>The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated immediately following the 11am Mass on the 2nd Sunday of each month for registered members of St. Genevieve-St. Maurice Parish family. Please contact the deacon if special arrangements need to be made. Parents, (and Godparents if possible), are to attend one pre-baptismal class, typically held on the 4th Thursday of each month at 6pm in the Activities Center. Please contact the parish office at least one month before the baptism.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Godparents:<\/strong>\u00a0The Code of Canon Law for the Catholic Church states that there is to be only one male sponsor or one female sponsor or one of each (Canon 873). Godparent\/sponsor must be sixteen, a Confirmed Catholic, who has received the Sacrament of the Eucharist, and leads a life of faith. They cannot be the father or mother of the one to be baptized (Canon 874).
