Dear Families
\nIt is easy to look at our world and become discouraged by the apparent absence of God and signs of God’s salvation. Advent, however, is a season of hope, in which we acknowledge that salvation is both mysteriously present, even in our world, and yet to be fulfilled.<\/p>\n
Read together today’s Gospel. Think about John’s question to Jesus: Are you the One? Jesus does not answer directly, but points to the signs of the kingdom present in bis midst. Together as a family, look through the newspaper for signs of hope that God is at work in our world. Pray that the world will know God’s salvation by praying together the Lord’s Prayer Family Recipe –<\/p>\n
Church Window Cookies<\/strong><\/p>\n Make some cookies that look like stained glass windows today! Melt butter and chocolate chips over low heat. Stir constantly. Once blended together, let cool for 5 minutes. In a large bowl, stir the cooled mixture over the marshmallows. Add the nuts and blend well. Sprinkle coconut generously on a piece of wax paper. Then form a roll with the mixture approximately 2 \u00bd inches wide on the wax paper; make 2 to 4 rolls. Wrap tightly in wax paper or foil; leave enough paper to twist the ends like a candy wrapper. Chill or freeze.
