Hopefully you had a blessed day. Some time ago, I saw a bumper sticker that read, \u201cStop the world; I want to get off.\u201d Don\u2019t you think that this is so true today!? You might ask what is going on in the world these days? Why is the world running so wildly? The COVID-19 pandemic, wars, violence, hatred, so much suffering around us, etc. But no matter how much you want to get off of this world, evil will be with us till the end time.<\/div>\n
In today\u2019s gospel, Jesus says: \u201cHe who sows good seed is the Son of Man, the field is the world, the good seed the children of the kingdom. The weeds are the children of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil.\u201d Has nothing changed in the 2000 years since Jesus\u2019 death?<\/div>\n
The parents in Jesus\u2019 day were saying the same thing the parents say to their children today. Right and wrong never change. We may listen to his words and think, \u201cThat doesn\u2019t apply to me! That\u2019s old fashioned. I can get all the information I need from the INTERNET, and I can get it right away. No one can make me do something I don\u2019t want to do!\u201d And that\u2019s true. Whether we are a teenager, a young adult, middle-aged, or a senior citizen\u2014we have to make up our own minds. No one can live our lives for us. But for the thousands of years that mankind has been on this earth, nothing has really changed. We all can recognize the \u201cweeds\u201d in our behavior. And, if we are to be truly happy, we have to get rid of them, or our personal \u201charvest\u201d will not be fruitful.<\/div>\n
I\u2019m always surprised when I read the words of Jesus as He teaches everyone what will happen to those of us who don\u2019t keep His commandments. He is a loving God and He is a fair God, but he is also a just God.<\/div>\n
The Son of God will send His angels and they will collect out of His kingdom all who cause others to sin and all evildoers. They will throw them into a fiery furnace. Then the righteous will shine like the Son in the Kingdom of their Father.<\/div>\n
Whoever has ears ought to hear!<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n
