On this special day, catechists are formally commissioned for ministry to our parish <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">community to pass on the Catholic Faith to our families. Today we celebrate our catechists\u2019 response to the Lord\u2019s invitation <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">to <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">develop their own relationship with Jesus. Catechists teach us to recognize Jesus\u2019 voice and invitation in our own lives so t<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">hat <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">we will grow as His disciples and witness his love and mercy in our world. We also celebrate our parents, grandparents, and <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">guardians by recognizing their important role in teaching the faith. The parish community is encouraged to pray for all <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">catechists who dedicate themselves to the mission of helping those they teach to hear the voice of Jesus and to grow in <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">relationship with Him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span dir=\"ltr\">Prayer for Parents &amp; Guardians <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\">Lord, thank you for entrusting me with the gift of my children. As their first teacher of the faith, I pray that I may lead <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">the<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">m to <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">experience a personal encounter with your Son Jesus so that they may grow as his joyful disciples. Help me to always teach <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">my children in truth, modeling your love and mercy, so that they will be strong witnesses of the Gospel in their daily lives,<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">at<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">school, and on the playground. Come, Holy Spirit, strengthen your gifts in me so that I may confidently embrace my important <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">role in guiding [children\u2019s names] in your power and grace. Amen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span dir=\"ltr\">WITNESSES TO THE GOSPEL CATECHETICAL SUNDAY 2021<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span dir=\"ltr\">Prayer for Catechists<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"ltr\">Lord, as I respond to your call to serve you as a catechist, I pray that you open my eyes, ears, mind, and heart to see you a<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">nd <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">to hear your voice so that I may be an instrument of your love, mercy, and truth to those I teach. Use me, Lord, to help the<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">m <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">to experience a personal encounter with your Son Jesus so that they will become joyful witnesses of the Gospel in their daily<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">lives, at work and at school, and in their families. Come, Holy Spirit, fill me with your gifts so that I may confidently ser<\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">ve <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">those <\/span><span dir=\"ltr\">you send me today.
