St, Genevieve-St. Maurice Parish’s 2nd annual Mercy in Action Day is Saturday, October 20, 2018 in the Activities Center. Sponsored by Catholic Charities of Southeast Michigan (CCSEM), the event involves parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Detroit organizing service projects to help their local communities.
This year, the St. Genevieve-St. Maurice community will be helping a non-profit agency in Wayne County dedicated to eliminating both domestic and sexual violence and providing comprehensive services to individuals and families impacted by these crimes.
Our project will consist of gathering and sorting donated bulk items listed below and filling Blessing Bags with items of comfort and encouragement.
We will need volunteers 12 years old and older to arrive at the Activities Center between 8:00 and 8:30 am, and we should be done by 11:30am. (Youth under 18 must have an adult 18 or older volunteering with them and sign a “Responsible Adult Statement.”) This is a great opportunity for Confirmation candidates!!
