News in the Youth Ministry World

This is not the Lent and Easter any of us expected.  However, God is offering us a special grace during this unknown time.  I am grateful to be living in a world where we have so many technological advances.  During this time of quarantine and social distancing our high school teens and I have come together via video chat.  Last Sunday we live-streamed a worldwide event for young people with Project YM.  Fr. Mike Schmitz lead over 4 thousand teens in this live broadcast.  I thought that this was very beneficial for our teens to see that they are not going through these challenging times alone.  It was an evening of hope to remind us all that God will bring light during this darkness.  Our Archdiocese has been supporting Youth Ministers during this time.  Last week, I participated in a call with other Youth Ministers throughout the AOD.  This was an opportunity to share best practices and encourage one another to keep the faith alive!

We will have another Youth Group meeting this week on Zoom, if you or your teen is interested in joining, please contact me at kmorasso@stgenevieve.org to receive a link to join the meeting.
