Faith Formation News

Dear Faith Formation Families,

Our catechetical year is quickly ending, please keep up with your assignments, don’t lose your momentum! You are all doing great!! Look for news about VBS coming the week of June 21st – 25th. Vacation Bible School Week is a perfect opportunity for service hours for incoming 7th and 8th graders! Also, a possible summer camp for students who were unable to participate in Faith Formation during the year and do not wish to be a year behind next Fall. Our Confirmation class had their Confirmation Retreat last week. Our theme was “We Are the Light of the World”. We spoke about the spiritual meaning of light within our faith – Jesus Christ, as well as in angels and miracles. The students created posters focusing on a light source, flashlight (Symbol of Guidance), headlamp (Symbol of Leadership and Witness), candle (Symbol of Welcome) and nightlight (Symbol of Presence), and focused on how they can let their lights shine through these themes. We will display their posters before Confirmation in our Gathering Area for everyone to enjoy. The Students also watched and episode of SEARCH “Why a God?” This episode showed the students that scientists, Harvard professors’, chemist and many more make the case that it’s not only reasonable to believe in God – it’s essential if you want to have a truly amazing life!

Our souls seek their creator, and we’ll never be truly happy unless we seek him out. As St. Augustine famously said, “You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you.”

Are you seeking your Creator?

Please continue to pray for all our Faith Formation students, especially our sacramental classes.
