I hope all the students enjoyed their Spring Break! On Friday March 25th, some of our Faith Formation students attended Friday night Stations of the Cross. Three of our Confirmation candidates; Natalie Morton, Constance Gross and Allie Ostroskie led the congregation in the reading of the Stations of the Cross. They did an awesome job!
At the last Faith Formation class before the break your child brought home the Gospel Weeklies for today’s Gospel. In today’s Gospel, teachers of the Law ask Jesus what to do with a woman who committed a sin that could be punished by stoning her to death. Jesus tells them that those who have never commit-ted a sin may punish the woman. One by one, they walk away. He tells the woman not to sin again. Jesus helps the people realize that they are also sinners. He encourages the woman to stop doing wrong. We are all selfish sometimes. We all do wrong and sin. Jesus encourages us to stop sinning and to grow in virtue.
“During his public life Jesus not only forgave sins, but also made plain the effect of this forgiveness: he integrated forgiven sinners into the community of the People of God from which sin had alienated or even excluded them” (CCC, 1443).
Parents, talk to your children about their loving and unloving choices in daily family interactions and the need to ask for forgiveness at times.
