This week in Faith Formation classes we pre-pared for Palm/Passion Sunday. Jesus shows His love for us especially in His Passion and Death. To-day’s Mass begins with the blessing of the palm branches and the Gospel about Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. We then all participate in the Gospel of Christ’s Passion and Death. This begins Holy Week for us. Jesus freely gave His life to save all people from sin and death. Even though we sin, we can still be saved. Because of Jesus’ death, we can enjoy Heaven.
“The Paschal Mystery of Christ’s cross and resurrection stands at the center of the Good News that the apostles, and the Church following them, are to proclaim to the worlds. God’s saving plan was accomplished ‘once for all’ by the redemptive death of the Son Jesus Christ” (CCC, 571, citing Hebrews 9:26).
Parents, encourage your child to tell you about Jesus’ journey through Death to Resurrection based on what they learned in class and join us as a family for the Holy Week and Easter celebrations.
