Hello Families! On Sunday we have our Confirmation Rite of Enrollment. We have 7 eighth graders preparing for Confirmation this spring. Please keep them in your prayers as they commit to this part of their faith journey.
The Sadducees in today’s Gospel challenges Jesus to take a stand on resurrection, a concept they don’t accept. Jesus tells them that God is God of all who have lived and of people living now. God reaches out in friendship to each new generation. The Apostle’s Creed culminates in proclaiming our Christian faith in the resurrection of the dead on the last day in life everlasting. We firmly believe… just as Christ is truly risen from the dead and lives forever, so after death the righteous will live forever with the Risen Christ and he will raise them up on the last day (CCC, 988-989).
Parents, encourage your children to ask questions about Heaven and about people who have died. Start by sharing stories about your loved ones that have passed. Assure your children of our continuing bonds with loved ones who have died.
