The Felician Sisters here in Livonia have asked again for your help, please donate empty shoe boxes or boxes full of essential items, personal items, small useful household items or perhaps little gifts for the children. No candy or perishable food items. Many of these families receive little or no government assistance. Therefore, the sisters gather shoeboxes for this cause and fill them with items for the families.
The families look forward to receiving them. A little 8-year girl told the person who delivered the filled shoeboxes that “it made her so happy because that is the only Christmas gift she receives each year”.
A large box will be located in the gathering space for you to place your shoeboxes in after all masses beginning next weekend. The final deadline date for collecting these boxes is November 3rd. The boxes are filled and taken for distribution to these Appalachian families before Thanksgiving. So, if you can help, your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
