Faith Formation News

Dear families,
Our Faith Formation class starts again this Wednesday, January 15th. As we resume classes we will be talking about Pope Francis and the Catholic Church’s Year of Hope.
2025 is the Year of Hope for the Catholic Church, also known as the Jubilee Year of Hope:

When it begins and ends
The Jubilee Year of Hope began on December 24, 2024, and will end on January 6, 2026.

What it’s about
The theme for 2025 is “Pilgrims of Hope”. It’s a time to:
· Reignite faith in our hearts
· Share the light of faith with others
· Showcase the hope of the Christian faith
· Bring hope to the world, which is suffering from war, poverty, climate change, and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic

Every family has a unique identity that is defined by the behaviors, attitudes, and expectations that govern a family’s daily life. This identity is influenced by the family history of the parents, but each family’s expression of this history is unique. In today’s Gospel, we learn that Jesus’ behavior, attitudes, and expectations were governed by his identity as God’s beloved Son. In our Baptism, we were made children of this same heavenly Father. This identity as members of the family of God, and as brothers and sisters of Jesus, also shapes our family’s daily life.

As you gather as a family, identify some of the expectations and behaviors that govern your family life by answering the question, “What are some of the things that make our family life unique?” Celebrate these things about your family life and conclude by praying together the Lord’s Prayer.
