Faith Formation News

Dear Families,
Summer is approaching! Here’s how families can make it a faith-filled summer:
Prayer
Make time for individual and family prayer, including morning and evening prayers, and incorporate prayer into daily activities.

Family Activities
Engage in faith-based activities together, such as attending Mass, reading scripture, and discussing faith-related topics.

Summer Faith Formation
Explore summer faith formation programs offered by parishes and dioceses, which may include retreats, camps, and other faith-based events.

Reading
Read spiritual books or articles, especially those related to faith and the saints.

Gratitude
Practice gratitude and find ways to celebrate God’s blessings in their lives.

Sharing Stories
Share personal stories of faith and how it has impacted their lives, helping younger family members learn from these stories.

Celebrating Sacraments
Make an effort to celebrate the sacraments together, such as Mass and Reconciliation, and explore other ways to engage with the church.

Family Gatherings
Organize family gatherings that include prayer, reading, and activities that foster a deeper understanding of their faith.

Connecting with Nature
Take time to appreciate God’s creation in nature and find ways to connect with it through prayer and reflection.

Helping Others
Seek out opportunities to serve others and practice acts of kindness and compassion, which are essential aspects of faith.

Summer Prayers
A Summer Blessing: “May you walk with God this summer, in whatever you do, wherever you go.”
A Beach Prayer: “Joyful God, we thank you for this time together.”
“Lord God, Creator of all things, guide our steps and strengthen our hearts, during these months of summer and vacation days. Grant us refreshment of mind and body. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.”
